Eduardo Burgos (b. 1988, Queens, New York) is a Florida-based cartoonist and illustrator working across comics, illustration, and visual storytelling. His work is shaped by a longstanding interest in character, narrative, and the ways stories can reveal the complexities of human experience. His influences range from the moral clarity of Aesop’s Fables and the psychological depth of Rembrandt’s etchings to the visual and narrative possibilities of contemporary comics.
Through dense crosshatching and the structure of the parable, Burgos creates comics that explore trauma, memory, and social rupture, often examining difficult realities such as human trafficking, addiction, and fractured family histories. Rather than functioning as confessional narratives, these stories look at the unseen connections between individual lives and the larger forces that shape them.
Alongside his comics, Burgos works as a freelance illustrator, creating artwork for musicians, businesses, publishers, and cultural organizations. His clients and collaborators have included The Grape Ape, 1800Lucky, Nervous Records, and H+M Communications, with work spanning album artwork, promotional illustration, branding, storyboarding, and commissioned projects. Across these different forms, he brings the same emphasis on drawing, character, and visual storytelling to each project.
Since 2023, Burgos has self-published original comics, which are included in the circulating collection of the New York Public Library. He has exhibited nationally and internationally, including at The Frank Art Gallery, Rivaa Gallery, and the Brooklyn Waterfront Artists Coalition. He has also presented and sold his work at events including Florida Supercon and the Miami Book Fair. His work has received support from the Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs and the Broward Cultural Division.
He holds an MFA in Fine Arts from Florida Atlantic University. Based in South Florida, he continues to develop his comics and illustration practice through independent projects, freelance work, conventions, and creative collaborations.
